Asheville Advance Teams

The Core Mission Team of comprised of 12 men and women who are passionate for God, people, and the city.  We desire to help people see Jesus through the eyes of the Spirit as we read John the Beloved's story of God together, opening the Scriptures in the open air and in small Discovery groups.  This team facilitates the small groups; overseen by Jeff and Kelly Manning, with Tom & Kathryn Haviland-Pabst.

The Worship Team is anchored by the Fords, joined by a team of inspiring, creative, and gifted artists who have played their hearts out on the street and public square for years as well as churches, homes, and concert venues.  They strum their guitars, beat their drums, and sing aloud to lead us as we worship with arms raised or heads bowed, waving banners at times and dancing at others, with surrendered hearts and feet standing our ground.   And the trees of the field clap their hands.

Ambassador Team while anyone can join us any Friday, those who are more intentionally and consistently joining with us on mission we see as an ambassadorial team.  These represent the Lord:  (1) in the way they love, (2) by being available to disciple those the Holy Spirit opens doors with, (3) invite them into a local Christ community or help them form Christ community in their world through multiplying discipleship.

Prayer and Prophecy Team is a small group of committed brothers and sisters which met regularly for on-site prayer at Pack Square last spring/summer to prepare the way for the missional advance.  This Fall and Winter we have met periodically at different locations in the city for on-site intercession.  This group will likely branch and expand into at least two groups this spring/ summer that will meet on site and in homes for prayer.

 

External Prayer Team is comprised of those who receive weekly updates from Jeff and pray for the advance but are limited logistically from being able to participate with us physically, many of whom live out of the area. .
